Smoky Mountain Youth Leadership Group Creates Sign for Project Sevier

SMYL is a youth organization that consist of students from all four high schools in Sevier County who show great leadership.  The students are chosen from many applicants to represent their school.  Once in the program they are divided up into groups to allow students from different schools to work together.  While in the program each group must complete a community service project.

Grant Fisher, Scarlett Fox, McKenzie Roberts, Lindsay Smith, Sarah Stoffle & Avonlea Wilkinson contacted  Project Sevier in December to see if they could help with the playground project. A sign showing fundraising efforts was needed, and the group immediately began working on the project.  The group met many times in January and February to work on the sign.  The sign was completed in February and will soon be seen a the playground site!  Check back soon for a new photo of the SMYL group with the sign being displayed at the site!
